  1. Where are you from originally? A Memphis boy!   Moved to Desoto County in 1991
  2. What is your favorite WOD/movement? Toughie……I’ve learned to love back squats.  Haven’t thrown any ridiculous weight around yet but making strides pound by pound
  3. What is your least favorite WOD/ Movement?  OHS…..hate, hate, hate, double hate…………loathe entirely!!!!
  4. What were you doing before CrossFit? How did you hear about CrossFit and/ Desoto CrossFit?  Not much formally from a workout perspective.  I liked to work in the yard, water ski, etc. but nothing that challenged cardio, flexibility or strength training.  Tommy bugged the ever-living crud out of me until I joined him one fateful morning in late May 2016….just happened to be Hero’s Week.
  5. What other sports or activities do you participate in as a family besides CrossFit? Our family has always loved to water-ski/wakeboard, etc.  We did all love to snow ski together until one of us fell and broke his tibia/fibula which required immediately surgery while on vacay.  That guy ruined it for all of us and he stinks!
  6. How many times per week do you CrossFit? M,T, Th and F are my minimum goal.  Every now and then, I’ll float a Sat in there
  7. What is your athletic background? All-around athlete….master of none.  My passion was football.  And, as you can imagine, basketball was in my cards and I liked it.  And, baseball & track & field; no not RUNNING – discus thrower.
  8. Give us some insight as to your thoughts after your first workout at Desoto CrossFit. “Where’s the BARF bucket?”…….as I mentioned it was heroes week and all I remember was we had 7 rounds of 7 exercises for like 7 hours; well it felt like 7 hours
  9. Do you have any special or favorite Desoto CrossFit memories/moments? After that very 1st workout in May, I didn’t die.  I felt like I might but I didn’t.  Fast forward 9 months, I still remind myself about that very first day when I’m in a tough workout to remind myself that I made it then and can make it now.
  10. What advice would you give to a newbie or someone just joining Desoto CrossFit? For the love of Pete, start in the Couch to Crossfit class.  And, do not drop in for your first workout in late May!
  11. What is your eating style? Much pickier now.  I try to eat lean and as clean as possible.  As a recovering sugar-holic, that’s tough some days.  Who doesn’t love a good doughnut?  Right Rachel?
  12. What kind of results have you seen since starting at Desoto CrossFit? My C2C goal was singular…flexibility.  At 51, that’s not been easy but it’s coming along slowly.  I’m down about 20+ pounds since I started and am now actually feeling like an athlete again.
  13. What do you do for a living? I work for the absolute best household goods mover on the planet….Armstrong Relocation/United Van Lines. In my role, I manage the relocation programs of many familiar names of Fortune 500 companies in Memphis and the US
  14. What drives you to be an active family? I’d like to hang around a little longer with my bride of almost 30 years.  And, to walk my daughter Beth down the aisle one day.  Watch Tommy say his wedding vows.  And, cheer Daniel and Alyssa on in their new young marriage. And…………run and play in the yard with my new granddaughter Brinkley Annette Allmon one day.  So, all the burpees, DU’s, rowing, etc. are way worth it to me!
